Born 25 December 1894, Garfield, N.J. Engineering degree McGill University, 1915. U.S. Air Service Experimental and Engineering Test Center 1917.

Inventiveness and engineering ability rapidly advanced him to major roles in the aerospace industry.

From his design genius came these world famous aircraft: the Admiral Flying Boats of the late 1920s, the Catalina Flying Boat, the B-24 Liberator Bomber, the Mighty Intercontinental B-36, and the agile Convair airliners. Died 14 January 1976.
