T. CLAUDE RYAN Early Aviator - Aircraft Designer Aviation Industrialist
Born Parsons, Kansas, 3 January 1898. Founded Ryan
Airlines in 1922 establishing the first regularly
scheduled airline services in the U.S., between
San Diego and Los Angeles in 1925.
Founded Ryan Aeronautical Company in 1928. Built the
famed Ryan trainers used by the Army Air Corps in WW II.
Pioneered development of vertical take-off and landing
aircraft and remotely piloted vehicles.
Elected to the International Aerospace Hall of Fame 1965
